To quote Abraham Lincoln,
A man is never so tall as when he stoops to help a child.
Gentlemen, I was in some very tall company!

Put some sunshine into their lives
The Variety Club of Great Britain Golf Society was formed in 1965 with the sole object of raising funds for the purchase of Sunshine Coaches for handicapped and under-privileged children. In total, the golf society has, since its inception, raised sufficient funds to provide over 950 coaches to schools and hospitals throughout the United Kingdom.
The Sunshine Classic was formed in 1998 following the challenge, originally laid down by past Golf Society captain Jimmy Tarbuck, to raise, on an annual basis, a miminum of £30,000 for the purchase of two coaches.
The responses to date have been astounding and since its inception the Sunshine Classic has presented 76 coaches to schools and care centres looking after disabled and disadvantaged children.
